It is a treat that is unless you're a farmer (generalized, i know) There's a lot of whinei.... "Concern" about the crops (what got planted) not having enough heat to grow right. And lots of rain! I think Wednesday we got about a tenth in Clay Co. while Greenup got 3.5 inches. Really spotty. either too much, or too little. that's how it is. |

HUH!? yeah, this is the year that spring never ended. I dont' think tomorrow afternoon is tied up so I'll see what I can do if the kid isn't still sick, but probably wopn't be going then either. Oh well.... Kind of a disapointment actually. I love spending time with the kids! Oh oh! Not the Swine (H1N1) flu I hope. No Don, It's you're typical ( I think) head and chest stuff. enough to bog you down for a couple days. And in this type of cool weather, you get wet then you get chilled running around in the boat. so, if it warms up next wekend we'll probably hit it unless something else pops up... and that happens too frequently any more for some reason... Warm...we've had enough of warm here. Summer finally kicked in with sunny *30F* temps for a full week or so. Hard to take when you aren't used to it. Next week we'll be back in the low 20s. That 4th week of August always brings the big change. oooops make that 30C |

In my opinion I think the "Swine flu" is going to be blown out of proportion as bad as the "West Nile Virus" was... Just my opinion, though. ********************************* It's been a big deal around here...early on we had the majority of cases in Canada. This is notable since this province only has about 2-3 % of the countrys population. |

But here in the states, it seem the media will take a "suspected" death from swine flu and make it out like it's rampant. A couple of "suspected" swine flu deaths in New York City . A city of about 9 mil. people and the news media causes a stampede. |

About an hr from them and an hr. from me traveling time, so boating sems to be a natural thing to do and everyone has a blast. I like spending time with the kids because their dad is non existant. (LOOOOOZER!), so I suppose I'm an uncle and a parent at the same time. I really enjoy the connection. Good for you for being there for them. How old are they? I have two granddaughters I adopted in '04 when they were 10 and 11. I had raised them after their father became non-existent (LOOOOOZER, as you would say, lol) Their mom, my daughter, passed away last year and I'm now raising another child, age 12. In addition I raised an older sibling, now age 29 and doing fine. So you can see I've been pretty busy. And because of that I've continued to work at age 71. Damn, they drink so much milk! lol But it's worth it! Back to a little on-topic. Today I found out by reading Craigslist that the marina where I have my boat berthed is charging $4.00 a ft for covered berth. I have been paying $150.00/mo for my 27 footer. Hmm, 27 X 4 = $108. So it looks like I've been overcharged $42/mo for the last three years. Next weekend I will move my boat to a land storage that charges $68/mo. Damn cheats! Eddie |

Al Gore has pictures of Florida and India going underwater. The melt is going to raise water levels some 22 feet (or was that centimeters?). No difference. Florida is going under. Hell, he's even got pictures that make it look like the polar bears are going to be extinct. (Although it seems as though the population is growing.)
