Obama says that instead of giving a 100 year old active person a pacemaker, they should give her a pain pill. *(Psssssssst. *Pain pills don't work on irregular heartbeats.) He sez we need to do a breathalyzer on a child asthma patient. Lots more, but I'm busy right now. Steve When my father was 80, he had a hip replaced, under Bozomacare I suspect they would not do so because an 80 yr old prob would not live long enough to get any use out of it. *By his 86th b-day, he had worn the first replacement out (too much adventure travel like hiking up volcanoes etc) and had it replaced again which I am sure BozomaCare would not do. *By 88 he suddenly developed Parkinsons *for which I suspect Bozomacare would do very little. *His solution to keep up his ability to walk as long as possible was to literally take up a lot more walking. *By 91, had to use a walker but still goes a pretty good distance every day. *At 92, sudden heart probs and I suspect *a BozomaCare death panel would sentence him to death. Without BozomaCare, he will prob live to be 100. *His health care is a combo of VA, private and medicare. *He has some sort of pvt insurance that very happily pays him to stay out of a nursing home. *This was a nursing home policy my parents bought about 20 yrs ago but I do not have all the details. *The policy pays if they go into a nursing home but also pays somehow if they stay out of one when they have probs. Ya know, young men are rarely proud of their parents but as we age our previously clueless parents become admirable. |
