Perhaps you should not be so quick with your judgement. *** Even a blind pig gets an acorn once in a while. The Telegraph is a wingnut publication and needs to be regarded as such. Ditto KOS.... and I'm sure they get it right once in a while too, but I'm not going to hold them up as a valid source, either. Especially since they may not agree with your political views. We've a couple folks like that here. Harry and jps come to mind. Shoot the messenger. In this case, it is probably OK to at least shoot at the messenger. The term, "shooting the messenger" was about shooting the messenger simply because he was bearing unwelcome news. It was always assumed that this was wrong because the messenger had no agenda and he got whacked purely because of content. You must consider the purpose of these news outlets.... they *sell* news and pander to their audience to do so effectively, some more than others. IMHO, don't trust ANY of them, but try to listen to all of them. Then YOU decide what is true. You won't find reality at The Telegraph or KOS, but with enough information you can make an informed guess at what *is* the truth. Pardon me. I was under the impression you'd brushed them off before becoming at all informed. -- John H |
