Default Wonder how this is going to look from the river

http://www.flickr.com/photos/deserttraveler/

One can get up very close to Hoover Dam by water. I'm going to have to go
make a run up there and see this project from 700-1,000 feet below. They
probably have it restricted, but one should still be able to get close
enough. Wonder what the restrictions will be when the bridge opens.

I have fished a lot on this stretch of the river. Scuba dived, too. But
not much since stripers overflowed Lake Mead and went into that ecosystem
wiping out the trout.

Wonder who will go into the record books doing the first swan dive off of
it.

Steve

Which side of the dam is that on? I was there years ago, but it looks
like it's on the down stream side of the dam.

Look for a tiny square dot crossing the dotted line about an inch or so
below the damn on this google photo.

I hope they leave the road across the top of the dam open when the
bridge is finished. I've driven over that a few times and it is a
very interesting perspective.

Last year we rented a 'Vette and did a driving tour of the Vegas
area. I saw the beginnings of that construction then.

Driving, and walking across Hoover Dam is pretty cool.

Yes, the purpose is to allow the semi traffic that is now diverted to
Laughlin to use this route again. The people who take the exits off the
divided road will lessen the amount of traffic actually on the dam, and
lessen the general cluster jerk considerably.

Surprised me that it was connnected. We were there ls Thanksgiving and was
a lot to go. It is a couple years behind schedule as the extremely high
winds a few years ago blew down the cranes. They had to design and build
bigger ones. Is a short distance down river.
