.... was spectacular!
We left here last Saturday, payed tolls out the nose, and ended up in a KOA outside Mystic, CT, that afternoon. We did a little scouting around, but no serious touring. The next morning the Wizard of Woodstock, or whatever he's using now, showed up to be our tour guide for the day. Tom was an absolute pleasure to meet. What a personable guy, especially for a Marine! And, he was also most knowledgeable about the area. He took us to several spots off the beaten path, all of which were enjoyable. Thanks, Tom! The next day we took off for Bar Harbor (Bah Ha Bah) and Acadia National Park. Gorgeous place to visit. I'll post some pictures of the park. We took a whale watching boat ride while there, and saw several finback and humpback whales. I'll put up some pictures of those also. None of them breached, but at least we saw some. Too many folks had stories of spending the money and seeing nothing. All in all a great trip! -- John H "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it's free!" --Anonymous |

Mt Desert Island has always been one of our favorites and have spent many vacations there. We spent the month of August in Bar Harbor when we cruised north 4 years ago. There are some great hiking trails in the park, and the New England popovers at the Jordan Pond House are absolutely spectacular. Looking forward to your pictures.
