Nitrogen in tires - to alla yu guys
Tahnks fro all the good advice. I didn't spend the $30 for the
nitrogen, but did spend almost $300 for the 30K service. Due to your good advice, I've got enough money to buy three, count 'em, one, two, three, combination pizzas at Costco. Can't wait. Maybe I'll have a couple hot dogs too. Thanks all! -- John H "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until its free!" --Anonymous |

Last year, when justhate was whining about having to do without close and competent medical care and expensive prescriptions he could not get from the state welfare system, he was offered professional assistance with both challenges, assistance that would have resolved those problems for him. In some of the places I've been I | couldn't have found any other kind of medical care anyway. So I had to | have those nasty military doctors taking stuff out of me. | | But I do appreciate your concern and advice. | -- | John H | | "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it's free!" | --Anonymous | Well, seems our friends have been busy. I come home after a great | weekend of racing with The Mouse and find 430 message headers to | download.. Actually I only got 296 of them as the others must have been | posted (over a holiday weekend) by the residents of my bin... Looks like | somebody didn't have anything to do or anybody to spend the fourth | with.. snerk | | I just got back to find 1400 new headers. Filtering HK got rid of over | 400. I wish there were some way to filter the 'responses'. It's a | shame more people can't resist his lures. | -- | John H | | "If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it's free!" | --Anonymous | |Well, sure there is.. Put: |"HK" |in your filters to dump any message with either the quoted HK or the |bracketed email address in the filter for the body of the message. Most |readers quote and bracket those so it should knock out any post that has |responded to him... I am going to try it now and see how it works, I |will let you know.. You can't filter on the body in Agent.... You're right. I just tried it, but Eisboch's response shows up. That didn't work. -- John H |

I tried it once in the ASA group when it was over run by flonkers, and with Agent it slows down update of the headers in the group. And no matter what reader, or if it happens server-side, the parsing will slow things down. You must have a slow server. Applying the filters makes no noticeable difference in the updating of headers with my server and news reader. My headers are sorted subject/time, and it's very easy to delete entire subjects or posters with the mouse. Never more than a few clicks, and just maybe I want to read something because of a poster/subject combination. I like my headers to show up sorted by thread. Deleting a poster, even when sorting by author, doesn't delete the responses to the author's bull****. I never felt I had to read anything I don't want to read. That's good. Why let a filter censor what I can read? Because you set it to do so. You can always undo a filter if you simply *must* read the author's tripe. Do I have free will? Do you? That question should be easily answerable. Or not? Just seems childish to me. That's why God made opinions. But maybe others find it useful because of their readers/tools. --Vic I found getting rid of 400 headers with one 'Apply Filters' click to be very worthwhile. I didn't have to decide whether or not to read each one. I don't like the idea of wearing out my 'free will'. Oh, I don't go back and analyze my filtered posts file, if one exists, either. -- John H |
