We had a houseboat a couple of years ago at the Town & Country Marina on Johnathon Creek, near Benton, KY. We lost it to a fire at the marina. Our boat was two slips from the boat that caught fire and exploded, catching surrounding boats on fire. We lost everything, we only had liability insurance, and no other parties had insurance. (Lucky us!) We purchased this 1970 Nautaline from a party in Lake City, Minn, and we started down the Mississippi last year to take it down to Kentucky lake. We caught a tug rope near Clinton, IA, and we've had trouble since. Right now, we're at Two Rivers Marina, across from Louisana, MO, having the boat repaired again. Maybe I should take up flying instead of boating? On Fri, 26 Jun 2009 15:32:54 -0700 (PDT), Tim wrote: On Jun 26, 4:41 pm, wrote: Thanks! I think this might the beastie here. We haven't |been able to determine who the manufacturer of the unit is. The |gearbox is seriously cracked. The boat has two inboard 318 Chrysler |engines. Is that in ILLinois? -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service -------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access I also thought I'd mention. I believe you are in Jasper county IL. I'm in CLAY. ?;^ ) Hi, Neighbor! OOPS! My bad. i looked at your email address that you used, and I confused it with "Psbnewton.com" Which is hosted by the Peoples State Bank in the next county over northwest from me. sorry for the confusion. -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service -------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access Clay City! You're right. *You aren't that far away at all. *Do you do any fishing at CIPS? *Apparently, East Fork in Olney has been really hopping the last couple of months. *Do you ever go to Rend? -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service * * * * * * *-------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access No, I've never fished on CIPS, but have told many how to get there. I've never been to Rend nor Lake Shelbyville. East Fork gets crowded, so when I go, I usually go over to Carlyle. I;d love to hit Lake Decatur sometime, but that's quite a distance in itself. But Carlyle is abotu 60 mi. from me and that's a big body of water and you don't have any congestive traffic. I hope to be out there on July 4 for the fire works. Heck of a display right at the West Access Marina. I have never fished Carlyle. Usually when people talk about fishing in this area, they talk about the other lakes you mentioned; but, I seldom here much about Carlyle. My lake of choice though is Kentucky lake (and Barkley). The crappie fishing is excellent there in the spring. And the Bass and catfish fishing isn't bad either. I've pulled some nice sauger out of there, too. -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service -------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access |
