....Republican assholes:

Sen. Jim Inhofe, who said Thursday he would not be supporting Supreme
Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, has now announced he will not even meet
with the judge before her impending nomination hearing.

Via The Hill, Inhofe's spokesperson said that the senator declined the
opportunity to meet with Sotomayor because he has already decided to
vote against her.

Jared Young, Inhofe's spokesman, said Inhofe's opposition stems
from his belief that "her spoken and written words show a leaning toward
judicial activism and a deference to international laws instead of the
U.S. Constitution."

Moreover, Young said, Inhofe voted against her nomination in 1998
to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and "this is a promotion and the
bar is raised, so he is compelled to vote no."

According to Think Progress, who reported yesterday that Inhofe decided
to oppose Sotomayor 11 years ago, the GOP senator has a long history of
opposing Democratic president's judicial appointments.

Inhofe's refusal to even consider Sotomayor's record as a circuit
judge is unfortunate, but it is hardly surprising. During the Clinton
Administration, Inhofe would frequently throw tantrums such as placing a
hold on every single one of President Clinton's judicial nominees in
retaliation for Clinton's decision to make a recess appointment, or
bottling up every one of President Clinton's civilian nominees in
protest of Clinton's decision to nominate a gay man to an ambassadorship.

From KOS.

Oh...Inhofe...one of the main conservative science deniers in the U.S.
Senate, a real flaming asshole. If memory serves, he's also against the
federal student loan program.

Please note that Interstate 90 will be closed this weekend across
South Dakota. This closure will allow the Federal Government free
access to haul a 200 ton piece of coal to Mt. Rushmore so that
President Obama can be added to the Presidents on the monument.

Turns out Democratic senator Boxer was wrong. Protocol DOES say a
military person should address a superior as either "Sir" or Ma'am".
The pentagon says they will not get in the middle of this but I say it
is a great example of the arrogance of Dems.

Geez, Tim. I could have lived out the rest of my days without having to
view that little gem. I actually cringed and closed the window after the
very first line. The 70's spawned some amazing musical milestones. Umm,
that wasn't one of them. I didn't much care for her in 1975, and it appears
that things haven't improved with time. Now I gotta' go put on some good
**** from 1975 just to wash away that bit of unpleasantness.

Lessee........1975

Katy Lied?
Wish You Were Here?
The Original Soundtrack (10cc)?
Blow by Blow?
Fleetwood Mac?
The Snow Goose (Camel)?
One of These Nights?

Help me out here.

I don't think so. I don't care for her, either, but she isn't his
"superior" and he should have referred to her as senator....

just as one would address a female judge as "judge _____" or "your
honor"?

I don't think it was as big a deal as she made out.

Ma'am is the same as sir in my book and that seems to be an adequate
term of respect for a senator.

Don't know what got her goat, his testimony, tone or she was just
having a temporary hormone imbalance (men have them too so don't
accuse me of bigotry) -- but it sure seem blown out of proportion.

I wonder if Letterman will dedicate some jokes to her going off. Maybe
she needs a dose of Alex Rodgrigez more than the Palin tweener.

Here's another hormone laced rant....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI-ficXX_ag

Saw that on Olbermann's show last night. The woman is a candidate for
hormone replacement therapy, no matter the health risks.

The rec.boats dolts will fail to recognize that Olbermann is slagging
the assistant of ultra-lib Representative Jim McDermott from my state.

Or should I say they won't give him credit for spreading the wealth.

If I had her phone number or email, I'd call or write in for "Liz."

What a ditz.

Right after Olbermann did this bit, he called her # and left a message
for "Liz." The woman needs hormones or a straight jacket.

That thought occurred to me, as I was posting. The deafening silence
seems to support your suspicions.....

You'd never see the GOP house organ playing a tune that counters any
of its bosses.

Nor will the "conservatives" ever give credit for MSNBC not being the
Dem's house organ. In their minds, Fox and MSNBC are the same.
