Last year complained about a problem I have with dehydration in the
heat and how I drink huge amounts of water for this. Somebody suggested drinking gatoraide to replenish electrolytes, this is obvious but it simply never occurred to me but I did try it. It is really surprising how much this helps. Within a few minutes of drinking it (compared to straight water), I feel much better. So, I thank whoever suggested it. Frogwatch in Florida |

Please note that Interstate 90 will be closed this weekend across South Dakota. This closure will allow the Federal Government free access to haul a 200 ton piece of coal to Mt. Rushmore so that President Obama can be added to the Presidents on the monument. -- John H -- John Herring, rec.boat's resident racist. |

We could have a lit of fun with that line. No? |

Frogwatch in Florida UNICEF came up with a formula for electrolytes to be used for children and adults who suffered the dehydration from diarrhea. You take a gallon of water. Pick up as much sugar as you can comfortably pick up in a small fist. Pick up as much salt as you can pinch between three fingers. Mix it up. Tests shows it is absorbed 300% as much as regular water. When I drink it, I feel bloated, but in my muscles rather than my stomach. And it's something that people have laying around a lot. One can carry those restaurant packages of sugar and salt in a first aid kit or gear box. Yer welcome. Steve |

Drink Tonic Water with Quinine. Not with mixers, it is an acquired taste. I drink it warm, most probably wouldn't but it's ok chilled too. Once you get used to the bitter taste. Open the bottle really slow and easy when it's warm or you'll wear most of it. |
