The the GPS satellites fall out of the sky or stop working for what ever reason, we'll still have LORAN. Or eLORAN. :) And what the heck - stimulous, sometimes known as porkulous, money is available - spend some of it on something useful. |

Let's face it, GPS is really neat, but very subject to interference..... intentional or otherwise. Loran is pretty bulletproof and ground based.... all good things from a reliability standpoint. but no military uses LORAN. and it's certainly subject to sabotage, etc. bringing down a LORAN tower takes a few pounds of C4.... |
