I agree they have set themselves up for jokes and that is what guys
like Letterman do but I can also understand why feminists get ****ed.

Ethnic jokes also bring the wrath of their advocate organizations.

I think it a bit funny that Palin is getting support from feminists,
since she is precisely the sort of stereotypical ditz they disdain. I
have to admit, though, I appreciate her efforts to stay in the news. She
and her family are the perfect antidotes to those who might think the
"new, modern, conservative GOP" is recycling.

I really got the idea that NOW's complaints about Letterman long
predated the Palin joke.


Aha. Well, I can't say I stay up to watch any of those "late night"
shows. By 11:30, I usually am in the land of nod. I used to watch Johnny
Carson, who I thought was the best comic on TV. But I gave up on late
night soon after he retired. I thought Letterman tried too hard, and
Leno was just not very subtle.

I have Dave on the Replay (DVR). That way I can skip over the dumb
stuff and the miniseries length drug commercials. I usually just watch
the monolog, the top 10 and the occasional decent guest.

His most recent interviews with McCain and O'Reilly were pretty
danged entertaining.

The Jaoquin Phoenix interview was other worldly. Letterman made me
laugh hard.
