Three months ago I called Cox Cable to whine about the high prices and
threatened to switch to Verizon. They promised a 5% reduction in my bill for a year, if I agreed to stick with them for the year. Last month my bill went up. Today I called and whined, telling them that my IMHO our agreement was null and void because they increased my rates (with a normal price increase). They didn't argue that. Then I asked for a supervisor. They transferred me to someone else. That someone else gave me a 10% discount for one year as a 'promotion'.
