The mower has a HUGE belt that wraps around a large drive wheel for
the blades. Here's an example, Loog. Actually I think it's kind of a
silly design, but hey. You run what you brung....

I have seen two 8-N with mowers. Five foot long single blade with a 90
degree gearbox and a shaft to the tractor. Hit a car axle with one. It
was a disused horseshoe stake in tall grass. Broke something cheap in
the gearbox. Maybe a shear pin. Nick like half a nickel in the blade.
BMB 'Brute' it was called.
