Did he go on to become an Astronaut and head of NASA? Of course not, that was someone from "rednecksville", SC. Uh huh. Things have changed a lot since you were in school in the '40s. Of course, that does help explain why you're so "set in your ways" and forgetful. It's typical of the elderly, unfortunately. As I stated, your local guy succeeded because he got out of rednecksville. The president of my senior high school class was doing very well when we caught up at a reunion. I was in public school in the 1950's and 1960's, but I agree that "things have changed a lot" since then, and, as a generality, I believe today's high schoolers are far less literate than their predecessors. Too much internet, too many video games, not enough reading, writing, math, and science. Of course, you righties aren't big fans of science. Interferes with your idiotic religious beliefs. |

You mean like you or that worthless, boatless piece of ****, Florida Jim, who thought he was defending America by helping to kill Vietnamese? No thanks. Hillhouse, btw, *was* one of the top academic high schools in Connecticut in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Now, it has suffered the fate of many urban high schools, sadly. In that same period, your schools probably were segregated, hey, redneck? Hillhouse was not; the president of my senior class was black. In the early 1960's...when the boys in your state and Florida were still into lynching blacks. Well at least you spelled my name right this time. Since you brought race into the discussion. From 1960 to 2008, how many senior class presidents were not black. And since when is race relevant to acedemic achievement? Your racist underpinnings are showing. Losing to a black man for class president may have triggered his fascination with the KKK. He mentions them all the time, and even posted a family picture complete with pointy hats. Just saying... That of course was your family with the pointy klan hats. |

What is amazing is that he's so stupid that he doesn't realize that EVERYONE here makes fun of him, and his lies, and his bigotry except his lover, Don that is. |

The most telling thing in this whole exchange is that the guy from the backward southern state posted a positive new story about a black man from his local area who has done very well in his life. Then you, they guy who attended such a forward thinking liberal school, steps into the thread and turns it into an ugly, racist, and bigoted direction. That's so telling, in so many ways. |

And do you know that many progressive southern cities have a much higher rate of college grads than in your area? Now, I mean REAL grads, not made up Yale ones. The president of my senior high school class was doing very well when we caught up at a reunion. How about the make believe president of the make believe student body of your make believe Yale education? The most telling thing in this whole exchange is that the guy from the backward southern state posted a positive new story about a black man from his local area who has done very well in his life. You southern white repubs like to conceal your liking for the Southern Strategy by tossing up that sort of stuff. I recall a number of your posts that poked fun at blacks because of their race. You might be fooling your fellow righties here, but you aren't fooling me. |

I don't know what Krause's affiliation with the KKK is. It is probably not a good idea to ask him. The KKK have a very active and notorious history (going back to 1866) in Maryland, including lynchings, cross burning and firebombing. here is a photo of the KKK in Maryland taken in 1982. http://www.upi.com/News_Photos/Archi...ux_Klan/381/5/ The KKK have had well published sally's in 2004 and 2006 in Maryland. I have not heard of any KKK rally's in SC. This is what a girl who lives in Baltimore Maryland had to say about Maryland: "Please! There are places (that you probably never driven through) that are pure "KKK like" country in Maryland. if you are not white you SHOULD NOT get out of the car. It may be offensive to to say "Redneck" or "hick", but should we refer to them as "possible white supremacists"? It does exist, it has been experienced by myself and people I know... They are areas of Maryland that most would not have to drive through unless you know somebody or you (GULP!) got lost. It may be offensive, but its' more offensive when you have to drive through these areas fearing for your life!!! I wasn;t trying to be offensive, I don't know any other way to put it honestly." http://www.city-data.com/forum/maryl...aryland-3.html -- Reginald P. Smithers III, Esq.
