Dude, where’s my stimulus?

Talk about lowering expectations!

We just got done hearing Obama take credit for saving 150,000 jobs —
which his administration never documented. Now we’re hearing that the
stimulus package demanded by Obama and passed over near-unanimous
Republican objections won’t actually make any difference at all. The
cure, Obama and his team now admit, is private-sector growth.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/11/bu...nomy.html?_r=2

Instead of constitutional law, Obama should have taken a few more
courses in Economics - assuming that he took any in the first place.

We need new economic advisors. Romer and her crew aren’t worth $800
in small bills, let alone the fortune we’ve frittered away on Obama’s
policies and her recommendations.

Bush took a number of courses in running businesses into the ground,
they were real life courses.

You think the president should have to know everything about
everything? That's what advisors are for.

Bush asked for six more month to reassess his folly in Iraq what, 7 or
8 times? How much money did he waste of bullets?

Were you complaining while our troops were dying for a stupid cause?

Shessh.

I am not sure anyone really wants Bin Laden dead.
The Taliban needs him as a rallying point and we need him to justify
our ill advised Afghanistan crusade. Were we asleep when the Russians
left with their tail between their legs?

I don't think it's important other than to have control over the
border with Pakistan. That's the scariest part of the globe at this
point. Nuclear weapons were never a good idea. In the hands of folks
who'd like to see a global Caliphate, even worse.

As for Iraq
I wish the Obama I liked had won. You know, the one that was going to
end the war and bring the troops home as soon as he was elected.
He seemed to disappear sometime around February 2008.
This is an 18 year Iraq war right now and I wanted them to come home
when Powell said "mission accomplished" in 1991.
Two Bushes and a Clinton later we are still there with a couple more
"mission accomplished" claimed but not acted on.

I'm with you. Sooner the better but I do expect he's been briefed on
the various risks and taken the best available approach.

I recall him saying "as soon as I'm elected" but was modified to "I'll
start the process." I think other Dems were slagging him about being
too optimistic and inexperienced so he had to modify his rap.

I guess I am still old enough to remember "when they can stand up we
will stand down" and other "Vietnamization" platitudes.

I also understand we are now important trading partners with Hanoi.
Capitalism defeated communism once we got out of the way and let it.

If we really need to bomb these people we should drop lap tops and
modems on them. Let knowledge win the day

Amen.
