Some government functionary is going see your ad or sign and is going to put your address on a list and the owner of the property is going to receive a letter demanding a "calculated" tax payment. I suppose the provinces/municipalities could help out by requiring a short term license to conduct a yard sale and expect you to collect and submit HST/GST/PST whatever... What about the kid running a lemonade stand? Does he need a license to sell lemonade for 25 cents a glass? It's simple. Someone with a clipboard shows up, shows an ID, and says "show a permit or close up shop." "And if I have to come back here, I WILL hurt you." Steve |
