It looks like another fallen angel from your *dream team* Just another scape goat for Dear Leader Obama's mis-adventures. This is great. When the "flyover" took place, the person or persons who authorized it were not specifically identified. Their identity was a bit hazy. The way the media presented it, it appeared to be a military decision. But now, the truth be known, the person was Louis Caldera, an Obama appointee. Since 2001, Caldera has worked in higher education, first as a vice chancellor for the California State University system and later as president of the University of New Mexico. He is a tenured professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law. I am thinking his academic credentials are missing a few courses in common sense. Worse, his resignation letter states that the "controversy" surrounding his authorization of the fly-over prevents him from doing his job. The fact that he screwed up royally doesn't seem to occur to him. Eisboch |

The guy who's head rolled was likely the least guilty, as is often the case. It's common practice to make publicity photos available, been done plenty of times before. That the DOD wouldn't allow people to be notified should have triggered the failsafe button somewhere along the chain of command but it didn't. And the poor schmuck who's balls got caught in the vice paid the price. Just like the poor schmucks who were guards at Abu Ghraib who did the time instead of Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush. Let's see, torture of prisoners vs. a flyover. Grasping at straws are we? Yadda yadda is right. |

As reported by Human Rights First, U.S. military personnel who examined Kenami when he first arrived at the facility determined that he had no preexisting medical conditions. Once in custody, as a disciplinary measure for talking, Kenami was forced to perform extreme amounts of exercise—a technique used across Afghanistan and Iraq. Then his hands were bound behind his back with plastic handcuffs, he was hooded, and forced to lie in an overcrowded cell. Kenami was found dead the morning after his arrest, still bound and hooded. No autopsy was conducted; no official cause of death was determined. After the Abu Ghraib scandal, a review of Kenami’s death was launched, and Army reviewers criticized the initial criminal investigation for failing to conduct an autopsy; interview interrogators, medics, or detainees present at the scene of the death; and collect physical evidence. To date, however, the Army has taken no known action in the case." Thanks to the Bush Administration, we're a nation of torturers. Hard to maintain the high road of morality, eh? |

You know - I would never have thought it, but it's fun being on offense instead of defense. These guys are tearing their hair out - assuming they have any. Uh...who is tearing their hair out? The dregs of the GOP? I've still got plenty and all I'm yanking it out over is having enough savings to make sure my kids get through college. Thanks to the ****ty economy left to us by the irresponsible Republicans, our state universities are having to raise their tuition rates 30% over the next two years. I'm torn between dancing in the streets and really wanting to have a worthy opponent in the damn near defunct "conservative" party. Methinks SW Tommy is projecting. |

The fighters could have flown down Broadway at 500 feet between the buildings, rattling the windows and people would have applauded the show. Caldera should have insisted that the DOD not keep it secret. The other option was to scrub and that's what should have happened. If Caldera wasn't smart enough to know the consequences, he shouldn't be in the role. There was never a solid reason for it to happen in the first place, non-boater, so why dwell on it? Photos of AF1 have been done many times, just not to anyone's knowledge. This was poorly arranged and even more poorly executed. But this wasn't AF1. |
