Steve I can tell you that one notch position makes quite a difference. When I bought my open aluminum boat with 25 hp ourboard from a fellow poster here, I just had to mess around with the adjustments. The boat wouldn't plane right...the bow was sticking up too far and the speed was disappointing. I could make out (slight dirt stain) where the trim was originally set...and after confirming this with the original owner, I set the trim in that spot. What a difference...up on plane in a couple of seconds and the GPS rated me at just over 27 mph. Would a different setting be required with passengers...or in much rougher waters..maybe. Wow! So rowboat with small OB = "open aluminum boat"? It does sound fancier, dummy. And 27 mph is amazing! At least it's faster than a Segway. |
