I am quite further along then the pictures indicate. I didn't have a camera
a few days in between. The front bow seats I reupholstered. I was very
pleased how they came out. I had replaced the rotten seat bottoms with
plastic and used vinyl . As I have with the floor as well.

Thanks for those. Gives a good idea on what you've done.
Looks like you're taking that boat very seriously!

Off today to build the floor.....

I have a friend who manages a lumber yard and throughout the year he comps
contractors material to try out and give there reviews...I was comped
6 -1/2" composite (plastic) material. They are 12 inches wide and 18 feet
long. I have bonded them together and made 2 pieces 18 feet by 30 inches.
After ripping out the floor, I used cardboard to cut out a template of the
floor. I am now taking that template to cut out half the floor then
reversing it to cut the out the other half then I will bond them together.
Hopefully with everything correct glue and drop the floor right in place.
The glue I am using is a bond used in Bodyshops to adhere quarter panels and
body moldings on automobiles curing time is about 24 hours. Once that sets,
I am going to use a self leveling heavy liquid to fill in the outside seams.
With the floor and boat level that should work real well.

Just an update!!

Just try to not add extra weight from the origional material... The
manufacturer (hopefully) knew how they wanted the boat to sit in the
water..

Check the support on the composite wood. On decks, requires twice as much
support. I think 16" was the max opposed to 24 for 2x6 wood.

So you are going to remove the old floor? Do you have the boat on a
bunk trailer, or rollers? I ask because the floor adds some rigidity
to your hull. A bunk trailer is better overall support. You might
want to hold some extra boats against the bottom with jack stands.
Not sure what the specs are on the bodyshop glue is but I'd strongly
recommend epoxy. www.uscomposites.com You can mix with various
fillers as well.

I have removed all the rot off the existing deck. The boat is on a bunk
trailer. The adhesive I am using is from 3M Automix 8115 Adhesive Panel
Bonding Adhesive. Once in place and set I will fill around the parameter
with Automix 8307 Sealer. The composite is surprising light!!

Thanks
