After the last eight years of GOP absolutely criminal horrors, Daschle's lapses don't amount to a pimple on the commonweal. We get the message loud and clear, Dems dont pay taxes, I wonder if HK paid his. In reality, I believe the reason is that Dems are so math challenged that they are unable to figure out how to pay taxes. As proof, I cite their so-called "stimulus" package which is nothing more than bribes to cronies, typical Dem work. Got any contracts paid for directly or indirectly by federal dollars? Be delighted to help make sure you get no more. :) Threats from HK, Ewww, I am terrified. Is that the best you can do when people disagree with you HK, make threats? Sorry Harry, we are strictly commercial right now. However, "ethics" requires intelligence, a quality lacking among Dems as experience this week shows. HK has just given us all a demonstration of ethics among Dems, when he cannot win with logic, he attempts to threaten. HK, anything I would write would have numbers and lots of those squiggly greek letter thingies, sure to baffle a Dem. Just offering to help. You want to control federal spending, I want to help you. |

A rewritten stimulus program that encourages more of it would go a long way towards increased employment. Increased employment would go a long way towards a recovery. A recovery would go a long way towards Obama's chances for an eight year term. Eisboch |

We are talking about tax evasion, pure and simple. Us mortals would go to jail for it. Furthermore, he apparently knew this when he accepted Obama's offer for the position, but didn't bother telling anyone until after the nomination was made public. What a guy. "Oooops. I forgot" Eisboch |

Controlling federal spending involves some concepts a lot more complex than "A pocket full of cash for my buddies". So...you are willing to forgo any revenues in any way related to tax dollars, right? |

Their sort of controlling means plenty of money for military misadventures, for defense contractors, et cetera. Plenty of taxbreaks for the rich and for corporations. But tight tight control for anything that helps the working stiff. |
