I don't think they'll be selling beer on the mall.

Bring an empty plastic bottle. Carry it in your hand, 'cause backpacks and
large purses won't be allowed.

John, for someone who is quick to chastise someone for replying to a
certain poster, I'd think you'd restrain from political posts.

Herring, Loogy and JustHate seem to feed off or on each other. Loogy is
just a tool, and JustHate keeps tripping over himself and his ignorance,
but of the three, Herring seems the lowest on the evolutionary scale.
Fortunately, he is easy to filter out.

You find the number of porta potties political?

Wow.

Actually, I don't think there was anything political in my post.

I don't recall chastizing you for anything. I simply asked that you not
quote the **** Salty or slammer write. Just a request. You can honor it or
not, up to you.

I think you show a lack of maturity when you start talking macho man
bull**** to either one of them. But, that's just an opinion. If it improves
your self-esteem to do so, help yourself.

Well, you probably will need a union ID. That's what the unions do during
legislative meetings...you can't get in without some sort of appropriate
ID...but with two million souls on the mall, it could easily get out of
hand! :)

Being the 56,723rd person to climb into a porti-potty on the mall is a
scary thought.

Getting out of town is going to be a bitch, too. The only good way is to
wait for the crowds to thin out a bit and then head for a metro station
not well known to the touristas.

When I was stationed in Annapolis during my last two years in the Navy, we
would often zip down to DC on weekends and hang out at the museums and/or
walk the various sites. It was always fun, you learned something during
every visit and I got to know how to drive in and out with no problems. We
would leave our house early in the morning, get a full day in in the Capital
area, and be home for dinner. I often used to get a parking place on the
street right across from the Smithsonian's main entrance.

I'll bet all that has changed now.

Eisboch

Summertime is a bear for parking at the mall, although if you get there
early enough, it can be done. It's much more convenient to park at one of
the outlying metro stations and take the metro to the Smithsonian stop.

This is the Democrat's party. They will get all of the glory and all of
the blame.- Hide quoted text -

I really think you mean all of the glory and none of the blame.. They
will still be blaming Bush for the next 4 years until they get run out
of town on a rail. Only Republicans are responsible from the day they
are sworn in..

The porta potty problem will have been Bush's fault, up until BO says, "I
do". Then it's his fault.

I'm going to play it safe John. on the 20th I'm going to Kentucky
Fried Chicken, and watch it on big screen.
Gee, and I was going to be on the lookout for you and for Herring...you
in the crowd and Herring in the ambulance, on his way to the hospital
after suffering a stroke. :)

Nah, I've never been to an inauguration yet, and really dont' see any
reason to attend this one either, fighting crowds and traffic isn't'
my thing. especially when it's going to be on about every TV network
for weeks to come.

I've lived in the DC area, Fairfax County, Virginia or Montgomery
County, Maryland since July of 1971. I've been to the Mall once for 4th
of July fireworks and never for an inauguration. The one time I went for
fireworks it was on my motorcycle, easy in, easy around and easy out.
It's just too damn cold to go for an inauguration.

I did the 4th, once, by boat, anchored in the Potomac. Great show, lots of
fun, until the ride back down the river with the folks who had *bigger*
boats and a *lot* of booze under their belts. I'll never do it again,
unless I spend the night on the river up there.
