I don't think that is the way out. We need massive infusion of capital
to get the economy moving, and corporate America ain't spending it.
Why should they? All they will do is become penalized via taxes.
Eisboch
Well, then, let them liquidate themselves so others who want to run a
business can fill the voids.
You have to be kidding. Businesses survive, employ people, provide health
plans, and grow because they can make a profit. Take that incentive away
and you get what we have now.

Eisboch

Harry doesn't understand the concept that the taxes have to be paid
for by someone. That someone is the end consumer. Let's take building
design. Let's say it's a Twinky factory. I have to pay taxes so I
charge the contractor more for my services. The contractor charges
Twinky Corp. more for the design/build of the facility. Harry thinks
that Twinky Corp will eat the extra cost, and they won't, they'll pass
it on to Mr. Consumer, no matter if he's rich, or dirt poor and just
wants a Twinky. Seems trivial, but not in the large scheme of things.
It'll happen over and over again to Twinky Corp. with the equipment
manufacturers, the raw material suppliers, everybody. And it ALL gets
to be paid for by the little old lady on SSI that lives on the corner
et al.

As long as the money keeps moving around everyone is happy and the
government has lots of money (taxes) to spend on ridiculous things
(Pork)and some necessary things. When money moves in exchange for
nothing (Handouts, Gifts, Bailouts) etc. some people are happy for a
while until everything comes to a screeching halt. The socialist,
liberal, entitlement crap that Harry is promoting is what got us to
where we are now. You want my money, give me something of value for it.
You love your country, don't run and hide when it needs you to serve in
it's military and then expect it to protect and feed you. Guys like
Harry make me sick to my stomach.

Jim, check your email.

That makes good sense unless your goal is for the government to
run the
corporations.

I visited China (PRC) back in 1986 when they were first
experimenting with the concepts of foreign investments and a subtle
shift towards capitalism.

It was an amazing exposure to life under an extreme socialist
society. (Communism)

The average Chinese factory worker had to bow to and worship his
employer who in turn worshiped his provincial mayor for the
opportunity to make a living for his family.

It was sad. And it hasn't changed.

And, it where this country is heading.

Every American and Canadian should support the union/labour movement.
If not for themselves, for their children & grandchildren.
\

The Chinese Government *is* the ultimate union labor establishment.
Are you sure that's what you want?

Eisboch

No it isn't.

It isn't want you want or it isn't what I said?

If the latter, you are dead wrong. It is exactly what the ultimate
structure and relationship of a controlled, "unionized" society is.

Eisboch

Perhaps in your mind, not in mine.

I'll admit to a Roll-Aids from time to time, but that's about it.

Eisboch

I don't have any serious arguments with you or your positions...yours
are intellectually and experientally based, and while we are on opposite
sides of some issues, that causes me no stress.

FloridaJim, however, is a dirtbag.

Shame on them! They should have waited for the economic salvation plans.

And a bailout?
