Don, how do you come out in tax/tarriffs on something like that? ************************************************** ********* The same as when I imported Tom's boat trailer. First a $206.00 processing fee for imported vehicles (paid at border) 13% HST (6% GST portion paid at border... 7% PST portion when I register at home) Then I have to go to an authorized inspection station to make sure the vehicle meets our standards. Then a provincial safety check Finally, I'll get to register the vehicle As long as the vehicle is made in North America...no duty. ( the exchange rate can add approx 20% to my costs after converting to CDN $.) |

I'd expect that kind of talk from one or two members of the group, but you weren't one of them. Is the Salty and slammer stuff rubbing off on you? The personal insults and name-calling don't do Canadians justice. The one's I've met would never resort to such. -- John Introduce them to Dingy Dan, and then make your observations. |

Here's some good ole' boy humour to enjoy.http://www.bitoffun.com/jokes_rednecks.htm- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Old but still good. Here's one you may like: An American, a Japanese and a Canadian were sitting naked in a sauna when suddenly there was a beeping sound. The American pressed his forearm, and the beep stopped. The others looked at him questioningly. "That was my pager he said. "I have a microchip under the skin of my arm." A few minutes later a phone rang. The Japanese fellow lifted his palm to his ear. When he finished he explained "That was my mobile phone, I have a microchip in my hand." The Canadian felt decidedly low-tech, but not to be outdone, he decided he had to do something just as impressive. He stepped out of the sauna and went to the toilet. He returned with a piece of toilet paper hanging from his butt. The others raised their eyebrows and stared at him. The Canadian finally said "Well, will you look at that! I'm getting a fax." |
