I don't remember. I went to the Gimp website and downloaded: Download GIMP 2.6.3 - Installer for Windows 2000 and above. It's at: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ Eisboch |

It might have been indexing your fonts. Other than that, I don't know why your system slowed. I rarely use the Gimp, and when I do, it's always on a Linux system. Anyway, if you are familiar with Photoshop, and want a similar interface, Gimpshop would probably be what you want. That can be found he http://www.gimpshop.com/download.shtml |

That can be found he http://www.gimpshop.com/download.shtml Thanks. I was more curious about it than anything else. My photography skills really don't task Infranview much for simple editing or PaintShop Pro which I use for more involved goofing around with modifying images. They are really all I need. I don't know why Gimp bogged my computer down. It's normally very fast, although it's a few years old. It's a HP Pavilion zd8000 with a 3.00GHz Pentium 4 CPU with 2.00GB of RAM running Windows XP Home Edition. I am going to be disappointed with it eventually dies. It's been a pretty good computer for a laptop. Eisboch |

I haven't. I really don't need another program for modifying images. InfranView is great for resizing and basic modifications and I use PaintShop Pro for more extensive manipulations. My photography skills don't warrant anything more complicated. Eisboch |
