Just think. Without dumb there would be no smart.

Thanks. I was feeling very badly after Harry's rancorous, unprovoked
nastiness.

Now I feel much better.

And one among us has to replay the election over and over and over and

The 2012 election will be the topic before too very long. I guess actually
it has been mentioned here already.

My purpose is to break 90. Hopefully it will be to break 80 before I die.
But, I'm beginning to think that may be a futile quest.

My ancient uncle took up golf at your age (early 60's), retired, moved
to Boca, played almost every day sans cart, and played his age on his
72nd birthday. He shot in the 70's for many years, playing almost every
day, and still putters around on the course. He's...hell, he's 92. I
think he uses a cart now.

So, there is hope for old golfers. You...doubtful.

Your uncle is much better than Tiger Woods, unless you're talking about
putt-putt golf, or a par three course. That would be believable.

Harry, it must not be fun knowing that every word out of your mouth is
considered a lie. I can understand why you cut'n'paste so much. At least
people then can't say *you're* the liar.

My uncle is in his 90's now, and doesn't play 18 holes anymore, idiot.
But when he was in his 70's he frequently shot in the 70's. Your efforts
to build that into something else entirely are just more of your
brain-damaged bull****.

In his 60's, he played golf about five times a week. A drooler like you
wouldn't been able to caddy for his foursome. I met them once. Sharks
who played for money.

I found his Uncle's skill a bit unbelievable myself. Takes up the game in
his 60's and shot in the 70's for many years?

Many retired golf pros would have a hard time with that and they played the
game all their lives.

Oh .... Harry didn't tell us. (he likes to leave little details out as "I
gotcha's) Maybe his uncle only played 9 hole courses.

He retired at 61, and took up golf seriously the same year when he moved
to Boca. He played a bit before, but not seriously. In Boca, he played
five days a week, year around. He did not play on Saturdays and one
other day. I couldn't tell you how many years he shot in the 70's.
Certainly not every day, but enough so that when I visited, his buddies
used to tell me about how he cleaned their clocks the day before or the
week before.

I'm not a golfer. I caddied for him once (which meant I handed him
whatever club he asked for), and was amazed at his abilities and low
score. This was at the Boca Raton resort and club, where I was staying
for a meeting and where one of his buddies had some sort of membership.

My father and his brother came from very strong Russian/German/Polish
stock. Their father, my grandfather, and my grandfather's brother,
walked from outside Moscow to Bremen to catch a boat to America. Their
children, my father and uncle, were teens and young men of the Great
Depression.

I am not a regular golfer like JohnH, but I've played enough to know it's a
game of technique and finesse, not strength. Even in my youth, I never got
close to shooting in the 70's, and I was a typical, semi-athletic flexible

I can't comment on my uncle's "technique and finesse," since golf never
interested me, and the only aspect of his game I could really understand
was his low scores.

My deceased father was a hell of a tennis player, and he suffered from
osteomyelitis (which at one time was called Mickey Mantle's disease,
because he had it, too). Go figure. They both had it in the legs. It
didn't stop Mantle and it didn't stop my father, either. He had to wear
a steel and leather leg brace later in life.
