Default Canadian Internet connectivity

We have a Verizon Aircard which we have used for Internet during the
Great Loop trip and it really has worked well. We plan to go to
Montreal, Ottawa, down the Rideau to Kingston, ON, up the Trent-
Severn, across the North Channel of Lake Huron and then back to Lake
Superior.

Has anyone had experience with an Aircard up there?

Are there other options?

WiFi connections are available in many places, especially if you have
a good external antenna and a high power adapter.
