Default Faria Electronic Compass Protocol or Sync Output?

I picked up a Faria compass off of eBay and have been looking at the
Ritchie provided sending unit. Ritchie's website shows a DH200 for NMEA
and DH300 for Furuno but no DH100. The compass works fine but I'm
curious if it's getting NMEA data or just a Sine/Cosine AC signal from
the sender. There wasn't anything but the Faria data sheet on how to
hook up the power to the system.
Thanks,

Dave.
