problem with simrad radar - or mount...

The antenna does not know the bearing to the reflection and thus throws the error message. Checking inside the dome sounds like a good idea to me. I'd think that newer radars would have the timing pulse generator simplified down to something a little less troublesome than optic sensors and stuff like that though. I'm not a radar tech in any sense of the word, I am guy that has occasionally opened one up and checked or connected the cable or something simple like that.
