Hello Dear All,
It seems PTC IIe is no longer available as new, but if someone has one not using it, and would be willing to sell, I would be interested to buy. You can email me to . Many thanks and fair winds, Máté Sinkó Budapest |

Is there some reason that you want the IIe? A problem with the IIe is that
the memory is limited to 512 KB and the latest version of the firmware requires 2 MB. They do have a mini version of the firmware that fits in 512 KB but doesn't include the latest robust packet software, but that's moot unless you use it. However, I wonder how long they'll support 512 KB systems. Check out http://scs-ptc.com/controller-comparison.html to see the latest systems and functionality. -- Geoff "matesinko" wrote in news:1133422408.889264.251010 @f14g2000cwb.googlegroups.com: Hello Dear All, It seems PTC IIe is no longer available as new, but if someone has one not using it, and would be willing to sell, I would be interested to buy. Geoff, the only reason to go for IIe as it is cheaper. I'll check its
capability to work with winlink (my primary reason to buy). Thank you for the information. I was not aware of its posible drawbacks. Máté |

I was not aware of its posible drawbacks. Máté All of the PTC-II work very well with Winlink. The PTC-IIe has been replaced by the PTC-IIex. There is a new PTCII-usb wich connects directly to a USB port. It also has provision to control the tranceiver (like the PTC-II or PTC-IIpro) which saves you another piece of hardware. Jean-Marie |
