oups.com: Anything to save a buck... The 16' SeaRaider had a 25 gallon poly gas tank and those little plastic angle brackets cut off from some long stock were not full length, but only about 3" long against the back corners of the soft tank. CG needs to inspect Brunswick. They ruined Sea Ray. |

Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about as well...the little 3 or 4
inch piece of plastic trying to keep 500 pounds of tankage from moving...I think Brunswick is trying to take their boat empire to the brink of an anti-trust suit.... regards, markvictor |

WOW! ...Makes me glad my boat is 30 years old.....some of that
composite was some stuff SR called hexellite, was akin to about 2 layers of paper towel....and to Sea Ray's credit they use vinylester as opposed to polyester....I wonder what the Bayliners looked like...(another superior Brunswick product);;; |

oups.com: another superior Brunswick product There was a Brunswick guy in an expensive suit at an in-the-water boat show I went to. He was watching his dealer hawking the products and answering questions to anyone walking up. I told him I owned a Sea Ray, but didn't bother to mention it was the Sea Rayder..(c; I asked him, "How come a company that can make a bowling pin you can hit all night long with a 16 pound ball fired at it by a 270 pound bubba, crash it into a pit to be scraped up by a pinsetter machine and mauled into a metal rack to start over again....can't produce a BOAT that is made of the same kind of non-destructive material that wouldn't be even scratched if it banged up against THIS dock?", pointing to the dock edge we were standing on. The look on his face was PRICELESS....(c; Well worth the $9.50 admission ticket.... |

ups.com: LMAO!...bet the cat took off and ran with his tongue... regards, markvictor I mean it just sounds logical to me. We're not making the boats better, more survivable since 1965, we're making them WORSE! Won't make any difference. All over the country the waterfront millionaires, ****ed at seeing the floating trailer parks anchored off their big tax liabilities, are gonna make anchoring within 500 miles of shore, illegal. I know someone who got busted at Hilton Head Island, SC. He anchored the boat in a "no anchor zone" off some developers private fiefdom. How stupid. When I took the teens to the beach in my Sea Rayder, some guy on Kiawah Island came running out of his condo and just blew up at me threating to call the rent-a-cops the town hires. I tried to remind him that 100' back from the HIGH water mark on that beach was PUBLIC PROPERTY, not his. State law. He got awful red and ran off to get his cops. When the cops arrived, I tried to get them to arrest me for trespassing on MY beach. Kiawah Island is RICH! Lawyers would drool over suing them...(c; The cop wouldn't play along, dammit. I wanted a new boat! Nuts..... Since then, SC has a new law the waterfront politician/lawyers wrote themselves giving each and every tiny waterfront fiefdom domain over 1 mile to SEA from their little beach so they can write local ordinances to keep the boats away a mile off the beach, if they want. That'll make boats disposable....like houses are gonna be. The house bubbles are bursting here, now. I love the Sunday radio real estate show where the realtor makes my radio spin on its axis trying to paint a rosy picture of buyers and sellers....(c; |
