Default ST600R AP

I recently picked up a ST600R hand held remote for my ST5000 system.

According to the RayMarine site/documentation, this unit will work with any
Sea Talk autopilot.

Everything seem to work fine except for one feature.. Normally I should be
able to control (manually operate) the AP drive by pressing the + or - keys
while it is in Standby. I can do this on the main control unit but it
doesn't happen on the Handheld remote (ST600R). Only when I place the unit
in Auto, can I effect the drive unit with the remote +/- buttons.

Anyone have any thoughts on this..

To answer my own question:

Raymarine just sent me a reply and informs me that the ST600R only
adjusts/operates the drive when it is in the AUTO mode..

This is surprising since the ST5000 control unit will allow control over the
drive in STANDBY as well as AUTO mode.

Additionally my back up control, AH3000 contro and Remote allows this
control in both mode

I guess I will have to live with this. In my experience with my old AH3000 I
often sat in the shelter of the dodger and steered the boat with the
Handheld Remote (while in STANDBY).
