Cell phone connection to internet

Thanks for all the good advice. The people at Verizon told me that I
need to add data service to my wireless account($5.00 a month). They
have a kit which will interface between my phone(V-120e) and my Laptop.
Of course I need a USB port. Guess I have to start with a newer laptop.
