Default Silva S15 VFH/DSC Radio

Hi,
Can anyone explain the procedure to reset the MMSI number on a Silva
S15 VHF/DSC. Taking this to the supplying dealer is not an option due
to distance.

Is it simply a matter of pushing an internal reset button? Removing an
internal battery connection link for a period or some other fix.

Regards

Well, I tried a quick search and found the manual for your radio at the
Silva website. Can't help much further though as it is written in Swedish.
Anyhow, the address is: http://www.silva.se/marine/manuals/s15_swe.pdf

There it says (freely translated): "To reset the MMSI number You must
send it to the Silva General Agent in Your country"

Hi,
Marcus and Mr Tranquility,
Yup, I had got that far in the English manual supplied with the S15 device.
However, RTFM was the problem I did not read it before entering 123456789
as the MMSI number. I still cannot believe this is a once only operation.
It must be simple to reset the memory back to default factory settings but
the procedure is not in the user manual.

It must be in the service manual I was hoping, and still are hoping, some
kind soul would outline the procedure.

I am an electrical engineer with extensive electronics experience and I will
have to have a look rather than take this back to the dealers red faced.

Regards
