Steve,
What do you mean when you say "open system". My wireless LAN link has encryption which prevents anyone from else from getting in. I would have to disable this feature for you to get in. I can't imagine anyone doing this on a private system. Regards, Ron |

You would be surprised at how many wireless system are not encrypted. Some
intentionally leave it unencrypted to share their internet connection with other roaming around. Kind of a fad in the SF Bay Area. They still have a firewall to prevent their computer/network for being hacked. Steve s/v Good Intentions |

Speaking to Martin from Mariner Computers
(http://www.marinercomputers.co.uk) last week and he mentioned about a wireless LAN he fitted last week on a boat. Maybe worth giving them a email if you need a bit of advice. Mark |
