Best Brand of Tach?

Can anyone suggest the best brand(s) of tachometer?

I have Volvo diesels and the tachs on my flybridge keep failing. An
aftermarket tach looks to be a lot cheaper than updating to the latest
Volvo tach.

Should I stick with VDO? Are there other brands as good, or better?
