... "Wayne.B" wrote Looks like they are diverting to P-town based on the latest SPOT track. That would be a good plan, get a little rest and put things back together before heading further north. No, they are heading direct for Portland and my 4500 granite block mooring. I've had some email contact with them and they seem good. They're making some mistakes but generally doing pretty well. I suspect Lyn and Larry Pardy didn't do a lot better on their first offshore passage. No email in a while. I advised them to tack earlier today. They then appear to have gotten a great lift but tacked anyway and are now headed for France. I'm not sure what is going on at this point. They may be following some whale sighting reports as that was one of the reasons for this route. Portland is an easy entrance and it is a long way around into P-town. I think they are good to continue. -- Roger Long Nothing wrong with going to France! I hear they have Freedom Fries! -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |
