If not, then it's not quite ready for chart plotter replacement duty, not by a long shot. |

It stores all the map tiles from Google on your hard drive prior to leaving home...just like my Nokia N800 internet tablet's Maemo Mapper does. Then it goes to the memory for the map tiles of satellite photos, for instance. The only thing it needs internet for is the live, realtime weather/points of interest/stuff that can't be stored. Everything else is your GPS input. This is really cool looking stuff. |

: What does this do? "GPS Option for Chart Plotter Functionality GooPs Pro GPS Software Download (PC Only) $19.95" I don't know. I just found the website and wanted to know if anyone here had used this company's products. That probably adds GPS data to the PC on PCs that won't talk to NMEA |

That probably adds GPS data to the PC on PCs that won't talk to NMEA It has added features over free GooPs. I bought their stuff and I'm going to try out their charting system on my trip from New Buffalo Mich. To Marco Island FL. I upgraded to GooPs pro as well. Capt. Bill |

Check this out, NOAA charts overlaid on Goggle Earth. *Note: Transparency adjustments in upper right. http://demo.geogarage.com/noaa/ You got something better than this link. I always get an error message and can't use the transparency functions. Also if you go to their webs site it looks like you have to buy their software and build up a mapping/charting system. They do not seem to do the mapping. "Your problem : Your goal is to publish maps or orthophotos on the Internet. But, classical webmapping solutions appear inaccessible because of their price and/or their technical implementation. The solution : GeoGarage, spatial image server." Capt. Bill |

You're too late. *The whole webpage structure has changed from the DEMO of their system that WAS posted to what is up there now trying to sell you their service. *Sorry..... I looked at it when this was first posted. I still see the same NOAA chart demo. Also if you go to their webs site it looks like you have to buy their software and build up a mapping/charting system. They do not seem to do the mapping. They're in business to sell charts....just like everyone else. I don't even see where they sell charts? Only software for charting/ mapping. Capt. Bill |
