I've just finished moving BlueJacket from the Chesapeake to Ossining, NY,

Anyhow, while at home I had a chance to update my video, photo and text
logs. *If anyone is interested, they're located at

Great pictures, thanks, brings back lots of memories for me. *You
almost got a picture of my old office building at Lincoln Harbor in
Hoboken, NJ. *

The Hudson River is quite possibly one of the most scenic cruising
venues on the east coast. *Take a run north to Catskill or so for a
great flat water trip while your wife recovers.

What kind of AIS are you using?

Wayne,

I'm using the Miltech SR-161 AIS receiver. I can report that either
the SR-161 or the RayMarine C-80 has a limit of 100 targets, as I
regularly saw a max of 100 targets within 8 miles. When it's not so
target rich, I often see targets in the 40-50 mile range and have seen
up then up to 70 miles. I don't quite know how AIS transmits that
far, but then again I was listening to the Long Island Sound CG group
from the time that I entered the Delaware bay.

Oh, we're headed N...up to the St. Lawrance and then to Newfoundland,
so Sue should have plenty of flat water to recover in. I'm just a
little concerned with the 45 locks that we have the manage, but I
suspect that's just me being concerned for her health. She's
restricted to lifting nothing above 8 lbs, so she can't fend off. As
a result, I'll just have to do a very good job of driving.
