Default AIS Now?

I am not able to settle this question myself and I hope Larry or similar can
help. I have Capn 8.3, a "bunch" of GPS units, etc., etc., an easy
position to mount an additional VHF antenna (on the backstay Questus), and
enuf know-how to set the system up well, but I cannot determine if there is
an economical AIS receiver I can use to display AIS info on my laptop (or
radar or whatever ... ). I know about the issue of using a multiplexer to
accommodate 2 talkers under the current NMEA regime. Is there a "box" that
I can use NOW (I mean in the next 3 weeks)?
