OPEC just announced a production cut, the US$ is dropping like a rock
and diesel prices are expected to approach $2/gallon by summer. Are you
sure you want to push 8 ot 10 tons through the water at more than hull
speed?

It ought to be. If a boater wants to run around at 20 knots, there are some
configurations that make more sense than
a trawler. Still can't get used to seeing these boats running at steep angles,
with a good chunk of keel protruding, while forced up onto something resembling
a plane by 8-10 times the HP required to maintain hull speed.

It ought to be. If a boater wants to run around at 20 knots, there are some
configurations that make more sense than
a trawler. Still can't get used to seeing these boats running at steep angles,
with a good chunk of keel protruding, while forced up onto something resembling
a plane by 8-10 times the HP required to maintain hull speed.

This is why I've mentioned a Power Cat. The PDQ only burns about 3 GPH at
around 14 knots, depending on a lot of variables, of course. And it provides a
much more comfortable ride.

The PDQ site provides delivery logs for several configurations.
