Therefore, if you buy a boat that has been salvaged, at a write off price with the intent of fixing it you may not know that there is a secret lien on it. Even if the selling contract states that they are no liens on the boat it does not excludes secret liens. Conversely, if you, as a Good Samaritan, pull a sailboat off the rocks or sand bar, can the owner place a secret lien on your boat for damages sustained during the pulling process? |
