Well, there's only two kinds of sailors -- those that have been aground
and those who haven't been aground YET. It looks like a fun way to spend
a birthday, if you overlook the being aground part! I loved the picture
of the Bay Bridge -- we sailed underneath it when we brought our boat home
after buying it in Annapolis! Maybe we'll see you out in an anchorage one
day!

Three kinds... one who has, one who will, one who lied about not doing it.

Where I come from, where the scows hung out, the entire lake is 19
feet deep. You then had the mast groundings, often without getting
water in the boat, so if you can get it upright you can resume sailing
without bailing out the boat first. There is a lot of muscle available
per pound of boat. Scows are among the candidates for ultimate day
sailer. 25 MPH speeds, with A scows.
