Is there a difference in strength/durability between the Profurl NC42 and
LC42 headsail furlers? Both have a 42mm extrusion, but are rated for different boat sizes (ratings vary greatly depending on where you look). From what I can find, the LC42 has ~6ft longer extrusion (extra section) over the NC42, and a larger drum to accomodate more line required to furl a correspondingly larger sail... if my sail area and dimensions fit the NC42 criteria, is there any reason to spend more money on the "next model up", or is the only real difference that I get to throw away a $300 extrusion section? Thanks, -Pete |
