I recently got a pair of BoatUS Fujinon's with compass as a gift. My

like to tell people, "It doesn't pay NOT to pay!" That means you
shouldn't buy
the cheapest stuff around.

the corolory to my aphorism was tacitly implied, thanks for clarifying

OH GEEZ where is my dictionary?

The point is that these things (GEN 1 units) are all made by a few Russian
companies and unless you get a Gen 2 or 3 all of the Gen 1 units will give
you a similar image quality. The one posted from Harbor Freight is their
own model but it is just a rebranded NZT-1
(http://store.yahoo.com/opticsplanet/atn-nzt1.html). So IMHO get the
cheapest one you can. Just keep in mind that they don't work like on TV
where you can everything like it is day. You will not be able to see the
markers or dock unless you are close to them and it is a full moon. It is
more *like* using the night shot feature on a sony video camera. With that
being said, I like the
(http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47420)
which is a rebranded Regal Optics Selena NV-3
(http://www.nightvisionstore.com/Rige...lena%20NVB.htm).

some one spent their cruising money on their vocabulary.

Just wondering, If people have to use a dictionary to understand your meaning,
doesn't that defeat the purpose of your rehtoric?

I think they buy in high quantity and don't mark up too much. I have
several of their tools (90 wire welder $99 for example) and find their
products to be quite good. Plus I suspect that since these items are made
in Russia they buy directly from the manufacturer for a reduced rate and
import it themselves while the other venders mark-up and probably buy from
other importers.

good luck,
mark
