Last weekend my Robertson AP300 autopilot failed on my way back from
the channel islands,it failed to follow course (zig-zaging). It was working fine the day before. I have a 1993 430 Carver power boat. Any thoughts on where to start looking? M. |

@l77g2000hsb.googlegroups.com: Any thoughts on where to start looking? Anything magnetic anywhere near the compass sensor....INCLUDING any wires anywhere near it with current flowing in them. Be sure to look BEHIND the bulkhead it's attached to, also! That sneaky magnetism goes right through a teak or plastic bulkhead...(c; Remember that tool box you put in that locker full of magnetic tools? Also, try unplugging and plugging in the cables several times to clean the contacts. A TINY bit of WD40 helps a lot! Larry -- |
