Yes. Bought a boat too cheap to be true, and it was. Came with an
unlisted qualities: spongy decks with all kinds of holes and hull
blistering. Still trying to get all of my money back, although
fortunately the shortfall is something I can well afford.

Don't bid unless you can afford to throw away the money; make the bid
subject to a survey and don't pay a dime until you (and your surveyor)
have seen the boat.
