The "Stuff" ,, how much does it weigh?

When I really got serious about racing my old Cal-34 we'd go through this excercise of taking all the cruising gear off of the boat. It was usually about 2 full size station wagon loads, and probably weighed 400 to 500 pounds. That is enough to make a very noticable difference in light wind performance. That's why we don't race in light wind ;-) Don W. |
