Default S2 sailboat information

Hi

Anyone here familiar with a sailboat called the S2 27 Performance
Cruiser? Have scoured the web for weeks looking for information and
reviews of this boat. Have found some cryptic info on Sailnet.com,
but was looking for some more opinions. Appreciate it.

Rick

I have one of these boats. I am very happy with it. The build quality
is very good, it is reasonably fast -rates about the same as a Catlina
30 in PHRF - and handles very well. Interior room is a big plus for
this boat in my opinion. They came in deep draft or shoal draft and
either had a one cylinder Yanmar diesel or an outboard. They are a
masthead rig with a transom mounted rudder. Most of them had a tiller
but some have wheel steering. There was a racing option that had a mid
boom traveler in the cockpit. Otherwise the traveler was on the cabin
top. Last year of manufacture was about 1987. Records show that only
85 were made. I own number 65.
