I just purchased a Maxum 30' and it's in Naples, Florida.Butbefore I bring
it home to Northern New York (and store it for winter!) I thought I would
spend a week in the Florida area and explore the waters there. Any
suggestions on destinations wouldbe appreciated??

Thanks,
Rick

It depends which way you go...Okachobee Waterway, or around the tip.

Around Pine Island...Cayo Costa etc....you can test out the draft.
When you're done you can go up the river and cut across the
Okeechobee, and freeze your butt going up the ICW.

However, this late in the year, I would think trucking it up would be
at least warmer....but it's your call.

....now you could also put the boat in storage at Glades Boat Storage.

But that's not what you asked, and it's making me out to be a cold
weather weenie.

Rick,

From Naples cruise up to Fort Meyers and into Pine Island Sound. Stop at
Tween Waters Resort Marina or South Seas Plantation (I prefer Tween Waters)
on Captiva. Stop at Cabbage Key where you can anchor out or stay at the
Marina but have dinner in the resturant and/or drinks at the bar. Swing into
the anchorage at Cayo Costa for a look at one of Florida's best natural
parks and stop at Boca Grand for a look at where the Bush Brothers go on
fishing trips. October/November is maybe the best time to cruise West
Florida so the weather should be great.
