hi folks- i have a universal deisel 5411. it starts fine, it idles fine, but
when i put it in gear, the revs drop off, it puts out very little power and
then conks. any ideas? ive changed the filters, have a new lift pump, and new
injector pump. jim

You probably already considered this,
but here goes. Is there any chance
there is air getting into the fuel line?
Or have you bled the lines? If so, was
it done correctly?
Is the prop clean? (More resistance
if it's not)

More likely, clogged filters or pickup tube. When we got a shot of
algae, she idled fine and at 1500 as we negotiated the channel, but the
revs wound down soon after choosing cruise power. A couple of new
filters and a prime and it STILL did it. Seems the plug was at the
pickup tube. Ran for a few hours at the highest power we could maintain,
maybe 1700 (cruise was 2800), and it cleared completely.
